Yesterday was a productive day. In addition to working 8 hours, I got a hair cut and beat a level in frogger on my cell phone.

I straightened my new hair cut tonight, and tied a scarf-thing around my head as a head band. Joey said I looked like a hippie. Is that a compliment or an insult?

A long time ago, my mom decided that she wanted a dog.
My dad did not want a dog.
So, they compromised and got three.

Willy's puppy is so cute, and is now out of quarantine. Buttons plays with her for awhile, but then gets sick of her and throws her. Beauty ignores her completely until Shiloh starts chewing on her, then she bites her and goes back to sleep.

The news channel: "The problem with energy drinks is that once it wears off, you have less energy than you did before drinking it."
Joey: "Only if you don't drink another one!"

There is nothing quite so awesome, when you're having a bad day, to look up and see your favorite person has arrived unexpectedly...

Work was amazingly awful today. The law of large numbers prohibits that so many random, weird catastrophes should strike the same person within 10 hours, and yet...

My day began when I overslept by 15 minutes. Doesn't sound like much, but I only allot an hour to get ready... wake up at 8:30, leave by 9:30. So I lost a quarter of my get-ready time.

Left for work with just enough time to get there, provided traffic was good. Thanks to a wreck on the interstate, I actually sat in traffic for 25 minutes. I think I moved 1 mile, maybe 2, during that time.

Arrived at work at 10:20, when I was supposed to get there at 10. My 10am appointment was there, and my 10:30. Had them fill out paperwork while I got the computer system and lights up and running.

Couldn't figure out how to get the lights to come on- they weren't working the way they had last time I was there. I called my boss and it took 10 minutes for her to get back to me on what to do.

Oh yeah- to add insult to injury, the problem was that they switched the lighting out. It was working just fine, I just didn't know it. Thanks for telling me guys, thats nice.

Took the 10am appointment back at 10:30. Took the 10:30 appointment back at 11. Told the 10:45 walk-in that I'd try to work them in, but no promises. They tore up their information card and walked out during the noon appointment.

Started trying to get out of the studio for lunch at 12:45. (Thanks to oversleeping, breakfast was half of a yogurt cup.)

Mat arrived sometime during this time, and went and bought me snack foods in case I couldn't escape. He decided to sit and watch me work, to see if maybe I could get away anytime soonish. He ended up entertaining the kids who were waiting.

Finally thought I was going to escape at 1:30, but a walk-in came. Of course, it was a 2 year old... squared. Two year olds are the worst. Photographers groan when there is one on the schedule. Two year old twins is unimaginable. We ended up taking the pictures separately... not together...

Told the walk-in that came at 2 that I had to shut down for lunch until 2:30. Finally went to subway with mat and got real food. Mat left shortly thereafter, leaving me with pretzels, tomatoes, crackers and a pepsi. (He wouldn't buy me mountain dew because he thinks I should cut back on it... )

Handled numerous random customer service issues that are completely random.... do people with odd complaints wait until I'm working to bring them in?

Got a bazillion walk-ins right before 8.... finally started closing at 8:30.

It took the customer service lady three tries to get my money order right... each time she messed up, a csm had to come cancel out the other order.

Finally made it home... to hear willy's puppy howling at the top of her little vocal chords. At least shes sleeping now.

My life is like a comedy... because only in the movies do so many random (and yet slightly humorous) messed up things happen to one person....

I've been reading my bible recently, specifically pondering over verses such as Isaiah 41:10, James 1:2-3, Psalm 97:12, Philippians 4:4... verses that talk about rejoicing in God, being strong in God, how God's strength will sustain you and God will keep you strong.
Isaiah 41:10 says, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." I will strengthen you?
Philippians 4:4 says, "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" Rejoice? Be happy? Always?
James 1:2-3 says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance." Trials are pure joy?

This makes me question myself... what am I doing wrong? Why don't I feel strong?

I found Isaiah 41:10... I had read it before, memorized it before, but in my search for why I'm not strong enough, I came across it again.
"But those who hope in the LORD
             will renew their strength.
             They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."

Renew. I almost...okay, I did...start crying when I read that word. Renew- that means you're not always strong, your strength has to be renewed! Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. I'm not perfect. I'm not always happy. I don't always feel strong. But, I can go to Christ, and he will renew my strength.

Cool.
